Research Analyst, Ratings
IDEAcarbon is an independent and professional provider of ratings and strategic advice on carbon finance. Our services are designed to provide leading financial institutions, corporations, governments, traders and developers with unbiased intelligence and analysis of the factors that affect the pricing of carbon market assets. We are looking to recruit one or several Research Analysts to support our Ratings team.
Responsibilities
As part of our Ratings team you would:
- Carry out due diligence of emissions reductions projects, analysing the risk factors that affect project performance.
- Develop IDEAcarbon’s database of projects researching the fundamentals of projects and recording their progress.
- Identify and analyse trends within sectors and regions, contributing to IDEAcarbon research papers.
- Monitor the policy changes of the different project-based mechanisms, preparing internal updates for the team.
- Support the Ratings team product development process.
Profile
We are looking for candidates with:
- A Masters degree in engineering, economics or a mathematical based subject (preferable, but Bachelors degree applicants will be considered).
- 0-2 years of experience in the development, appraisal and/or evaluation of carbon, energy, industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Good communication skills, both written and spoken
- Self-motivation, flexibility and ability to work in a team
